Hello, my name is Shuang Tian, and I am delighted that you have visited my website to get to know me. In 2012, I was admitted to Nankai University to pursue my passion for Material Chemistry. This is where I began my journey to become a dedicated student and researcher.

In 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Linqi Shi, I had the opportunity to engage in research activities that explored the world of polymer science. I quickly realized my passion for developing new polymeric nanoparticles and how they could be used to combat bacterial biofilm infections, which led me to continue my research in this field.

Since 2019, I have had the honor of being a ‘sandwich PhD student’, dividing my time between the University of Groningen and Nankai University, working under the guidance of Prof. Busscher, Prof. van der Mei, Prof. Ren and Prof. Shi. The experience has been both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to explore new frontiers in research and developing my scientific and academic capabilities.

My research efforts have led me to study various aspects of precise drug delivery systems, nanomedicines, and the interaction between material and biological surfaces. I am particularly interested in exploring nanomaterials and how we can leverage this knowledge to develop new therapeutics.

I completed my Ph.D. in June 2023 and subsequently moved to Ghent University in Belgium to pursue further research in immunotherapy.

In my leisure time, I enjoy staying connected with nature, reading, and engaging in outdoor activities. I believe that spending time in nature helps us to appreciate the beauty of the world and fosters creativity. Additionally, I am passionate about new technology and love learning about the latest gadgets and tools that can help us push the boundaries of scientific understanding.

I am excited to continue exploring new frontiers in the world of biomaterial science and to apply innovative solutions that positively impact human health. I am committed to meeting the challenges that lay before us and believe that we can work together to create a brighter future for all.
